||RLI is a non-profit company under the Alberta Companies Act. RLI Metis Centre of Excellence is mandated in the areas of education, training, and research. It is funded by the Government of Canada through its Aboriginal Skills Training and Employment Strategy, and by the Government of Alberta through the Alberta-MNA Framework Agreement. The research mandate held by RLI liaises and works closely with the Faculty of Native Studies and the Rupertsland Centre for Métis Research.
||We are a non-profit Indigenous organization focused on servicing clients in the area of education, training and research and are looking for an Associate Director - Human Resources to join our team. The Associate Director (AD) will work as a member of the senior management team and will lead and direct the HR functions from our head office in Edmonton.
The AD will be responsible for: strategic human resources planning, supporting full cycle recruitment, performance management, employee relations, establishing and implementing retention and succession plan strategies, implementing all HR policy and procedures, reviewing and making further recommendations for a comprehensive compensation structure (pay, benefits/pension, etc.), implementing health and safety standards and other strategies/programs to support organizational capacity, and will act as a change agent to modernize existing HR functions.
The AD will have management skills in the area of budgeting and reporting on financial expenditures relating to HR functions. The AD will be a key person in developing goals and success strategies within the senior management team and will work in conjunction to identify the training requirements of staff and to unify the new HR culture operationally, strategically and financially. This is a unique position encompassing every area of Human Resources with a non-profit organization that is ready for a succession plan.

||Are you a passionate Human Resources professional looking for the right challenge? The ideal Associate Director will report to the Director of Operations and the CEO, and will bring a minimum of five years of progressive experience at a managerial level with HR post-secondary designation(s). Only those with HR designation(s) or those about to complete a HR designation, along with experience, will be given consideration. The Associate Director - Human Resources will be required to diagnose opportunities quickly and maximize all resources to impact change. An analytical mind with a sense of urgency and a results-driven attitude are required. Extensive experience with Indigenous groups and/or partnerships will be considered an asset. Professional conduct, adherence to all applicable legislation and compliance is forefront in this role. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent interpersonal skills, great organizational skills, and a passion for what they do.
