Building Inclusive Workspaces for Métis Apprentices

This is a Métis-specific diversity & inclusion training seminar and course designed to help create a more inclusive workforce through education. The course is specially designed to help employers of Métis individuals understand our rich culture and heritage so they can foster a healthier work environment.

This course could be taken in-person or online via Zoom. For the in-person program, which is in Edmonton, there are 15 seats available. The first seminar is on Monday, March 27th from 1pm to 4pm.

As part of RLI’s Apprenticeship Service Program (ASP), diversity & inclusion training must be offered for all employers taking part in the ASP. It is optional, but highly encouraged. The course is presented by RLI and administered by Edified.

As this program is the first of its kind, the program is open to all employers who work with RLI. While it is slightly trades focused, the program will present valuable information about Métis culture for all. There will also be a Moodle course component after the initial seminar for employers to continue their education on how to be a more inclusive workplace.

I trust you are well! I wanted to inform you a new program Rupertsland Institute (RLI) is offering. RLI is proud to now offer Diversity & Inclusion Training.

This is a seminar series designed to increase Métis-specific awareness in the workplace. With a focus on creating a welcoming environment for Métis apprentices in the construction and manufacturing sectors, the seminars are based on teachings of psychological safety, inclusive communication, and fostering solid leadership skills.

RLI’s Diversity & Inclusion Training will be a hybrid (virtual and in-person) 3-hour workshop with 15 spots available in-person in Edmonton for each session. The first session will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023.
