Métis Access to Post-Secondary (MAPS)

The MAPS Program, Métis Access to Post-Secondary, is a Rupertsland Institute initiative to support Alberta Métis high school students on their journey to a career, focusing on the important transition between high school and Post-Secondary or the training needed to meet a student’s career goals.

The MAPS program specifically supports Métis students to develop the skills to succeed in the challenges faced through the transition to Post-Secondary studies with strategies such as:

ASSIST
students with applying for scholarships and grants with Métis Nation of Alberta and Rupertsland Métis Students Association

INFORM
students about Post-Secondary applications, open-houses, and academic requirements

FOSTER
connections to resources and student supports through cultural and community events

BUILD
Métis foundational knowledge

Seeking Ambassadors

The MAPS program is recruiting Ambassadors to be a part of this exciting initiative. An Ambassador would be a Métis educator who can work with the MAPS manager to support Métis students in their community in a successful transition from high school to Post-Secondary studies.
