Métis pedagogy was traditionally land-based. Learning in traditional Métis communities and families was a lifelong commitment that included family members, knowledge-keepers, ceremonies, and land-based learning. For many families, these lessons also included entrepreneurial skills.

Compare land-based learning to traditional teaching methodologies. What lessons does the standard K-12 educational process miss? What values do you think are being taught in a Western form of education? What values were being ignored by omitting land-based learning?
