RLI Launches New Initiatives to Address Community Needs in Response to COVID-19

In response to community needs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, RLI has launched new initiatives with support from the Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA).

RUPERTSLAND STUDENT EMERGENCY PROGRAM

In partnership with the MNA, and the Métis Capital Housing Corporation, the Rupertsland Institute is offering the Rupertsland Student Emergency Program (RSEP) to assist students affected by the pandemic. The RSEP offers financial support to eligible post-secondary students.

COMMUNITY EMERGENCY SUPPORT PROGRAM

The Métis Nation of Alberta and Rupertsland Institute have launched the Community Emergency Support Program to provide target wage subsidy funds to support Métis communities impacted by COVID-19.

Funds from the program can be used to hire workers like drivers to deliver essential goods and supplies, and clerical staff to help apply for pandemic relief programs while providing a stimulus to the local economy.

More information regarding this initiative will be posted shortly.
