About the Apprenticeship Service Program
The Apprenticeship Service Program (ASP) has been created to connect first year apprentices with employers across Alberta.
By 2028, it is expected that about 700,000 skilled trades workers across Canada will retire. The goal of the Apprenticeship Service Program is to support the creation of more than 25,000 new apprentice positions in skilled trades across Canada.
With funding by Employment and Social Development Canada, Rupertsland Institute has launched the Apprenticeship Service Program to support employers and aspiring trades workers by creating apprenticeship opportunities for individuals who self-identify as Indigenous (Métis, First Nations, Inuit) and/or women (gender).
As part of the Apprenticeship Service Program, the federal government will provide financial incentives for employers to connect and hire skilled trades workers in Alberta. Through this funding, Rupertsland Institute will target up to 150 first-year Red Seal apprentices per year.
