Beaver’s Den pitching competition a great success for young entrepreneurs

On May 13 and 14, Rupertsland Institute (RLI) hosted the inaugural Beaver’s Den during the Sôniyâhkêw (they earn): Métis Youth Side Hustle Summit. Contestants competed for financial incentives to kickstart and fund their side hustles. “What an incredible weekend for Métis Youth to inspire, encourage, and support.” said Donna Bell, manager of Indigenous Relations and Supports at NorQuest College and member of the Rupertsland Institute Board of Governors.

Rupertsland Institute encourages, empowers, and supports current and aspiring Métis entrepreneurs through workshops, up-skill support, and much more. With the tools available, all that is needed is for motivated Métis entrepreneurs to take the leap into starting their own business. Holden Ekeberg is one of those individuals.

RLI Welcomes Talented Métis Students to the Team as part of the Inaugural Métis Internship Program

Among these interns are web developers, HR assistants, communications coordinators, and other creative and technical based post-secondary students.

Celebration of Life for former Rupertsland Institute Board of Governor Bruce Allen Gladue

It is with great sadness that former Rupertsland Institute Board of Governor (July 18, 2012 – July 18, 2015) Bruce Allen Gladue passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loved ones on October 9, 2022, at the age of 61 years.

RLI Congratulates the 2022 Esquao Awards Recipients

Rupertsland Institute (RLI) congratulates all of the 2022 Esquao Awards recipients, including RLI’s Board of Governor, Dr. Florence Glanfield. The Esquao Awards are the largest gathering to honour Aboriginal Women in Canada. It is unique because the community nominates the women, and the Institute for the Advancement of Aboriginal Women (IAAW) coordinates the ceremony to honour them.
