Métis Guide Tourism Training
Have you always dreamed of exploring Alberta and working in the Indigenous tourism industry?
Rupertsland Institute and Painted Warriors have partnered together to make that dream a reality. The Métis Guide Tourism Project is an eight-week intensive training program where Métis youth aged 18-30 have the opportunity to spend six weeks fully immersed in traditional Métis ways of life through land-based learning all while gaining certification in ten specialized courses before entering into a two-week job placement. Participants will spend two weeks at Métis Crossing before moving onto four weeks at the Painted Warriors Ranch and ending with the two-week internship. Participants will leave the program ready for a fulfilling career as Indigenous tour guides in Alberta’s bustling tourism sector.
