As an advocate for Métis education, training and research, Rupertsland Institute actively engages with the federal and provincial governments, educational institutions across Alberta and other stakeholders to further RLI’s goals.

Structural Assessment – Stakeholder Survey

Rupertsland Institute has commissioned a study to examine the alignment of RLI’s organizational structure with its mandate, mission and vision. The first phase of the review requires extensive data collection and consultations with RLI’s key stakeholders including members of the Métis community.

New Agreement, New Future

November 16th will now have new meaning for the Métis people of Alberta. This day has always held significant importance for the Métis as the day that Louis Riel was hanged for defending the rights and culture of Métis people in 1885.

Rupertsland Institute – Data Collection System

Background Rupertsland Institute (RLI) was incorporated as a not for-profit company in 2010. RLI is an affiliate of the Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) and carries a triple mandate in education, training and research. A professional Board of Governors representing academia, government, the Métis community and members of the MNA Provincial Council govern the organization, and RLI reports on results to the federal and provincial government as required by the respective funding agreements.

David Andre Boisvert, 1949 – 2016

David Andre Boisvert, 66 years of age, beloved husband of Deanna (LaJambe) and uncle of Brooke passed away August 9, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. David was born November 5, 1949 near Somerset Manitoba. Predeceased by parents Albert and Denise (Labossiere), David also leaves to mourn four younger brothers Richard (Dorothy), Phillipe, Robert and Edgar, sisters-in law Lorette (Tony) George, Veronica LaJambe, Theresa LaJambe and brother-in-law Derek (Heather) LaJambe.
